Thriving Within The New Economic Cycle

Thriving Within The New Economic Cycle

1st annual conference - Palm Beach County Convention Center - April 4, 2011

The first edition of the Palm Beach Strategic Forum will reflect on how private and public companies, entrepreneurs and governments can contribute, within the context of an uncertain recovery, to the development of strategic sectors of the economy. Competition for world markets is greater than ever and our ability to compete internationally increasingly affects our standards of living. At the same time, the business world requires managers to manoeuvre within a highly complex and uncertain environment. What business models are best suited to thrive within this new economic environment? Are governments on the right track in the shift to austerity? Can international trade still contribute to wealth creation for local businesses? How can the U.S. energy sector play a key role in a sustainable recovery? Against the background of this period of potentially profound economic change, the objectives of this first Palm Beach Strategic Forum are threefold:

  1. To provide a realistic and comprehensive portrait of today’s and tomorrow’s international economy: What are the new rules of the game in terms of finance and innovation?
  2. To provide participants with strategic information on how to succeed in the changing international marketplace: How can businesses take advantage of these new rules?
  3. To provoke productive thinking on the part of participants by focusing discussions on finance and innovation

I wish to thank our partners and sponsors, who made this Forum possible. Enjoy the conference and we look forward to welcoming you again next year.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Rémillard
President and Chief Executive Officer
