A former Chief of Staff to President Carlos Andrés Pérez and Minister of the Secretariat during his Presidency, Ms. Rangel maintains strong government and business contacts throughout Latin America. Ms. Rangel is an accomplished International Business Executive with broad expertise in analyzing, developing negotiating and implementing short and long-term corporate investment strategies and acquisitions throughout the Latin American and Caribbean communities. Prior to founding AMLA, Dr. Rangel was the Senior Advisor to the Chairman & Corporate Vice President of the Cisneros Group of Companies, recruited by senior management to play a primary role in providing support and consultation to the Chairman and CEO in a major corporate-wide restructuring. Developed key components of the company’s long-term strategic plan; oversaw the divestiture of several companies in the consumer products industry and created a strategic planning unit within the Cisneros conglomerate which assessed investment opportunities and developed business plans for the creation of new ventures. Dr. Rangel holds a BA in International Affairs and a MA degree in Development Economics from Boston University and a MA degree in Public Administration from Harvard University.
