Ellis Rubinstein, Pres. and CEO of 198-year-old NY Academy of Sciences, home of more than 20,000 scientists in 100 countries & 27 Nobel Laureates on its Council. Served as Editor of Science from 1993-2002. Editor of The Scientist, Senior Editor at Newsweek, & Managing Editor of Science 86 & IEEE Spectrum. His journalism was honored by 3 National Magazine Awards. Having organized the first nat’l publishing agreement that permitted all Chinese scientists to receive Science by Internet, he became the first western journalist to interview Chinese President Jiang Zemin. He was the first science journalist to interview then-Pres. Bill Clinton. At the Academy, he has established international public-private partnerships in obesity & diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, science education, & "smart cities" and early childhood development.
