George LeMieux
Former U.S. Senator, Florida

Throughout his career, George LeMieux has demonstrated a consistent commitment to public service. He has been called upon to serve as Florida's Deputy Attorney General where he managed more than 400 attorneys. He was asked to serve as chief of staff to the Governor, helping to oversee all state agencies and operations. After returning to private practice in 2008 at Gunster, a prominent Florida law firm, George was soon called back into service when Mel Martinez retired before the end of his term. While serving as Florida’s 34th United States Senator, George was a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, the Commerce Committee, and the Special Committee on Aging. Senator LeMieux saw several of his legislative priorities signed into law including Medicare anti-fraud legislation and an export promotion act. At the conclusion of his term in 2011, George returned to Gunster where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board.
