James Andrus is the Investment Manager for Global Governance. CalPERS is the largest public pension system in the United States with approximately $281 billion in global assets. James leads the legal and regulatory financial market reform agenda for Global Governance.
James is a member of the policy and research steering committee for Principles for Responsible Investing (PRI) and the Accounting and Auditing Practices Committee of International Corporate Governance Network. His former professional roles include: Corporate Partner, K&L Gates, LLP; Finance Associate, Mayer Brown; and Quartermaster Captain United States Army. In community service, James served as President of the Loren Miller Bar Association and the King County Bar Association, representing the 14,000 lawyers in Seattle/King County. He was also elected to serve on the board of the Washington State Bar Association. James is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and the United States Military Academy at West Point.
