Manuel D. Medina is the Founding and Managing Partner of Medina Capital, a private equity firm investing in innovative companies in the cybersecurity, big data, software-as-a-service and mobility markets. Medina Capital’s philosophy emphasizes funding high-growth companies with established products that will benefit from its strategic guidance.

Medina is also the Founder of eMerge Americas, a non-profit effort to showcase technologies and innovations disrupting industries and to connect innovators from across Latin America, North America and Europe. In just three years, eMerge Americas has grown to attract more than 13,000 attendees from over 60 countries, more than 400 participating companies, and many world-renowned speakers. eMerge Americas 2016 featured live broadcasts and interviews from NBC News, CNBC, MSNBC and Telemundo thanks to a multi-year partnership with NBCUniversal News Group.

Prior to founding Medina Capital and eMerge Americas, he was the Founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ exchange until April of 2011 when it was acquired by Verizon for $2 billion. Under Medina’s leadership, Terremark distinguished itself as a leading global provider of managed IT infrastructure services for Fortune 500 enterprises and federal government agencies. Terremark was recognized as a pioneer by providing the first enterprise-class cloud service in the market and as a leading-edge provider of cybersecurity solutions.

Medina is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from technology trends and global business to entrepreneurship and has served as either a keynote speaker or panelist at large investor conferences and IT industry tradeshows. His leadership in the IT industry and insightful analysis of market trends have resulted in appearances on NBC News, CNBC, Bloomberg TV and Fox Business as well as interviews with global media outlets. Medina received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University and began his career as a certified public accountant at Price Waterhouse.
