Chairman and CEO, VidSys, and Former Deputy Secretary, Department of Homeland Security (United States)

Mr. Jackson was Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (2005-2007), its COO responsible for managing day-to-day operations of a $48 billion organization with 210,000 employees. He was Deputy Secretary of the Department of Transportation (2001-2003), focusing particularly on the Department’s response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In the Administration of President George H. W. Bush, Mr. Jackson served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Cabinet Liaison, and later as Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Transportation. During Ronald Reagan’s second term, he held several positions working for the Secretary of Education. In the private sector, Mr. Jackson has been founder of Firebreak Partners, Senior Vice President of AECOM, a global family of design and engineering firms, and COO of its government services group. Earlier, he was COO of Lockheed Martin IMS’s Transportation group, managing market-changing services such as electronic toll collection nationwide. A Houston native, he has a Ph.D. (Government) from Georgetown University.
