Raimund Röseler

Chief Executive Director of Banking Supervision, Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin)

Raimund Röseler is the Chief Executive Director of Banking Supervision at the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) since 2011. In this role, he also has mandates on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision in Switzerland and the Management Board of the European Banking Authority in London. Mr. Röseler has had a distinguished career at BaFin, serving as Head of the Department “Basic Issues: VA Policy; Risk Orientation” of the Insurance Supervision Directorate (2010 – 2011), Deputy Head of the Department “Risk and Financial Markets Analysis” (2000-2009), and Head of the Financial Instruments Section (2004-2009). Prior to BaFin, Mr. Röseler held various functions at AXA Konzern AG, Cologne (1999 – 2004), the post of the Officer for Securities Business and Innovation Investments at the German Savings Banks Association in Berlin (1995 – 1999), and as a Securities Specialist at the Bayerische Vereinsbank AG, Munich (1989 – 1995). In 1989, Mr. Röseler graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne.
