Between 1969 and 1972 worked at Rodelag, S.A. as Manager of the Air Conditioning Department. From 1972 to 1977, worked as President and General Manager for Camarones Neptuno, S.A., company dedicated to seafood processing and export. From 1977 to 2003 he performed as President and General Manager at Empacadora Alimenticia, S.A., another company also dedicated to seafood processing and export to European countries and USA. During his managing years in these companies, he was also President of ANDELAIPP – (National Association of Panamanian Fishing Industry). During 2004 he represented the Panamanian government as Panama’s Plenipotentiary Ambassador and General Consul to the Kingdom of Thailand in Bangkok, Thailand. From 2005 through 2007 founded Combustibles Ecológicos, S.A. the first company that implemented the use of propane gas to run motor vehicles. In 2007, he founded Wellesly Trading Inc., dedicated to the processing and distribution of seafood products nationwide and internationally; he was there until 2009. From 2009 to the present he has been serving the Panamanian government, first as Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry and currently as the Minister of Trade and Industry.
